Where does the massage take place?
We offer a unique mobile massage service. A fully-qualified massage practitioner will create a sacred space in your home, complete with candles, incense, fluffy towels and relaxing music. That way, when the massage is over you don’t have to battle the traffic to get home; you can simply float off to bed and enjoy the warm glow of well-being. Or if you prefer, the massage can take place in the comfort of the Divine Feminine premises. Call 0439 636 958 for address details.
How long does it take?
A full body massage usually takes one hour but many people choose to luxuriate in a deeply relaxing 90-minute massage.
Do you use oils?
Yes, a high quality, nourishing base oil is used to enable the practitioner’s hands to flow deeply and evenly over the surface of the skin. Fragrant and therapeutic essential oils are used in an aromatherapy massage. The oils used are chosen after an initial consultation with the client in which the therapist determines the mental, physical and emotional needs of the individual.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
A full body massage starts with the recipient’s legs, moves upwards to the arms, then works gently on the tummy before focusing on the upper-chest and concluding the first part of the massage with a relaxing facial. The recipient then turns over and is massaged deeply on the back, neck, shoulders. This way, the recipient is already relaxed by the time we come to the part of the body which holds the most tension. This maximises the benefits of the massage and, by finishing with the area that people enjoy most of all, we find that our clients leave feeling ‘elastic’, supple and blissfully relaxed. Should you feel uncomfortable about having any part of your body massaged, please tell the therapist during the consultation.
Are there any circumstances in which a massage would not be advisable?
There are a few contra-indications to massage which will be covered by your therapist in an initial consultation before the massage takes place. General questions include:
- Do you suffer from high or low blood pressure?
- Do you have any recent breaks, fractures or dislocations?
- Have you had any previous injuries or long-term illnesses?
- Have you recently undergone any surgery?
- Do you have a history of seizures or epilepsy?
- Are currently taking any medication?
- Are you in the early stages of pregnancy?
These conditions do not necessarily rule out massage but may affect the way in which the massage proceeds.
